North Bay Road Race FAQs

1. How do I register for the Look Out Trail Race?
   Registration is through the Race Roster website here.
   

2. What are the registration fees for the race?
   Pricing is based on “block pricing” and applies based on how many people have already registered. Please refer to our website for the most up-to-date information on registration fees.
   

3. What distances are offered in the Look Out Trail Race?
   The Look Out Trail Race offers a 7km/14km/Half Marathon and a 1-2km Kids’ Race.
   *Note: These are “Trail KMs” and will not 100% match your GPS watch. But they’re as close as we can possibly measure!
   

4. What is the race route like?
   The course is technical in many sections with tight singletrack, rolling doubletrack, and a few steep climbs. There are rocky sections that will be very slippery if it rains on race day. There may also be mud patches, but no promises.
   
   Kid’s Race:

   The Kid’s Race is about 1-2Kms depending on whether you take the “shortcut” or not. If you skip the shortcut there is a large tough hill to climb (it is part of the cross-country skiing course).
   

5. What time does the race start?
   Final details coming soon. Around 8am-9am.
   

6. Is the race timed?
   Yes, the Look Out Trail Race will be chip timed by Chiptime Results. The Kid’s Race is not timed.
   

7. Can I walk the race instead of running?
   Yes, participants are welcome to walk the race if they prefer. It is a difficult course and each 7km loop will take about as long at walking 10km of flat road.
   

8. Are strollers and bikes allowed on the course?
   No. The course is not suitable for strollers or bikes.
   

9. Are dogs allowed on the course?
   No dogs are allowed during the race.
   

10. Will there be water stations along the race route?
    Yes, there will be an aid station with water and electrolytes at the Start Finish and the 3.5km mark - so each loop you will hit an Aid Station twice.
    

11. Can I transfer my registration if I am unable to participate?
    Yes. Race Roster charges a $1.95 fee for transfers. Please check the Race Roster page for deadlines.

12. Can I refund my registration?
    We are not able to offer refunds. If you cannot participate you can transfer your bib or defer (before deadline).

13. Will the race be cancelled for bad weather?
    The race will proceed unless there is a thunderstorm or extreme weather alert. For cancellation protection, please select the Enhanced Race Protection option during registration.
    

14. Can I wear headphones while running?
    No - you must be aware of your surroundings and other runners at all times. There are tight sections of the course where you will need to announce your passes.
